Methodology

How pages are researched

Every recommendation is built from sources a reader can open: vendor product pages, documentation, help centres, official app marketplaces and trust or compliance pages. Each page lists its sources and the date they were checked.

Research process

  1. Define the business job first: what the software must handle, on which channels, and what happens when it cannot.
  2. Shortlist products built for that job from vendor documentation, help centres and trust pages; each page uses a mostly distinct set of vendors, because the jobs are different.
  3. Record channels, human handoff, setup model, languages, integrations, pricing model and stated compliance, with the source and date. Vendor performance numbers are attributed or left out.
  4. Recommend by situation, and state the trade-off next to each recommendation.

Research and drafting are tool-assisted. Every published claim is checked against the cited source by the editorial desk. Vendor marketing claims are attributed to the vendor, not repeated as our findings.

Evidence tiers

T1
Primary sources only: the vendor's own pages and documentation, official marketplaces and registries.
T2
Adds attributed findings from named third parties. Their findings are theirs, not ours.
T3
Checked in the product itself, with the date and setup recorded. We only describe our own use when this record exists.

Unknown means unknown

If no source we accept states a capability, the table says “Not stated” or “Unknown”. We do not infer a feature from silence or from a competitor's documentation.

Prices

We describe pricing models (per user, per minute, flat monthly, quote-based) for context. We do not maintain exact price lists; check the vendor's pricing page before buying.

Updates

Pages are rechecked when something that can change the answer happens: a product launch or retirement, a plan or packaging change, a documentation change or a reader correction. Each page keeps a change log. We do not change dates without a real change.

Money

We may earn affiliate commissions and accept clearly labelled, disclosed formats. Nobody can buy a ranking, a “best for” label, a verdict, a data change or the removal of a competitor. See the disclosure policy and the partners page.

Corrections

If something is wrong, use the contact form with the page address and a source. Factual errors are corrected regardless of who reports them.
